Statement from the Young Democrats of Arizona: We Condemn the Escalation of Violence, U.S. Complicity, and Executive Overreach

June 23rd, 2025

The Young Democrats of Arizona condemn the latest wave of violence between Israel and Iran, and we mourn the innocent lives lost as a result of escalating militarism and regional instability. We are outraged not only by the violence itself but by the executive overreach displayed in this conflict.

Our generation grew up watching endless wars in the Middle East. We saw how U.S. foreign policy prioritized weapons over diplomacy, military contracts over human lives, and geopolitical dominance over peace. We are now adults and voters, who refuse to accept the same failures of the past as the status quo of our future.

We are outraged by the Trump Administration’s continued military support for actions that violate international law and result in widespread civilian harm. The U.S. cannot claim to stand for peace while funding destruction and enabling authoritarian aggression.

War does not bring safety. It brings grief, generational trauma, displacement, and destabilization. If we want peace, then we must invest in justice. That means ending unconditional military aid, holding all actors accountable for human rights violations, and prioritizing diplomacy over destruction.

We stand in solidarity with all people affected by this violence, especially the innocent civilians caught in the crossfire of governments that treat their lives as disposable.

This moment calls for courage, not complacency. We demand that President Trump listen to the overwhelming voices of young people across this country: Stop funding endless war. Choose justice. Choose peace.
